Workshop Description

Join us this May at Hollengold Farm in Accord, NY, for a botanical drawing workshop that blends creativity, nature, and relaxation to help you hone your skills, observe flowers up close, and create delicate floral illustrations with confidence.

What We’ll Practice

🌸 Flower Dissection & Observation – Take flowers apart to study their intricate details and understand their structure.

🖌 Playful Petals – Capture the softness and delicacy of flowers with colored pencils and watercolor pencils.

🖼️ Drawing & Composition – Learn how to draw realistic flowers and arrange a unique botanical composition with your flower, petals, and leaves.

Why You’ll Love This Workshop

🌿 Immerse Yourself in Nature – Explore the farm’s stunning landscape and gather inspiration from the fresh spring blooms all around you.

💡 Guided Instruction & Time to Draw – Watch instructor demonstrations, try the techniques yourself, and benefit from one-on-one feedback in a supportive, small-group setting.

Relaxing & Meditative – Drawing flowers is a mindful, calming practice that lets you connect deeply with nature.

🎨 Sustainable Creativity – Responsibly harvest flowers to study and bring selected blooms back to our open, solar-powered pavilion to draw.

A Day at Hollengold Farm

Step into a blooming artist’s retreat, where you’ll begin by exploring the farm’s vibrant spring landscape. As you wander, choose the flowers that speak to you—perhaps a delicate wildflower or a lush peony. Return to the pavilion for live demonstrations to learn botanical illustration techniques, and create your own detailed floral artwork using colored pencils and watercolor pencils.
